Adulting is Hard....
Are you a recent high school or college graduate who is unable to find a job? Maybe you're too scared to even look. You're not alone. Nearly 44% of college graduates are under-employed and working in jobs that don't even require a degree. You may not be working at all even though you know you're capable; you're just unable to find the courage and resources to move forward. I can help you gain the confidence and self-reliance to move forward and tap into your values and skills to manage these challenges of adulting.
Almost 30 years of teaching teens, having 3 young adult children of my own, and lots of career placement experience has given me an edge in this area.
Boomer Transitions
There's something about hitting those magical milestone ages that is both enlightening AND frightening. We begin to see that we only have so much time left and many of us are faced with challenges we hadn't anticipated such as aging parents, stagnant adult children, loss of spouse, divorce, dating, and retirement considerations. It can be overwhelming, to say the least. I've experienced a lot of these challenges and would love to share techniques to help you prioritize, organize, and move forward.
WHO needs a life coach?
Anyone! Most life coaching clients are healthy, successful people who might be a bit stuck or simply want to make a change in their lives. We all want to be the center of someone’s world and that’s EXACTLY what a good life coach does! YOU become the center of OUR world.
HOW does it work?
The biggest surprise for first-time clients is realizing that a life coach isn’t there to give advice or offer solutions. Instead, they ask powerful coaching questions that stimulate YOU to find the solutions. You will be asked to examine the things in life that matter most (CORE VALUES) from new angles. You’ll learn how to tackle obstacles that are holding you back.
Coaching appointments begin with a chance for you to report on your progress and end with a clear set of action steps you choose to take in the week ahead because accountability is a BIG piece of the process.

Joan was my colleague for more than 20 years. During those years, Joan was a sounding board for me when I considered changes in my professional career and a friend when I needed one – even when I did not know I needed one. She is an active listener, willing to share bold guidance in a polished and friendly manner, and extremely positive about life. I have always admired her spunk and genuine personality. Mostly, I am grateful that our lives have connected; I would not be the person I am today without her influence. She expects that you pull your weight on any team project and will hold you accountable in a firm, but caring way.
